Serving since 06-13-2018
A local mission built to move good food where it matters most.
Sharing Excess was established on 06-13-2018 in Philadelphia with a practical idea: good food should never be wasted while neighbors are going without. Our team works at the point where surplus appears—distributors, suppliers, and local food channels—and redirects that food toward people and community partners who can use it the same day. This approach reduces preventable waste and strengthens food access without adding unnecessary complexity for donors or recipients. From our base at 6700 Essington Ave Ste E207, we focus on consistent, local coordination that turns excess into impact. Every pickup and redistribution reflects the same commitment: move nutritious food quickly, safely, and with respect for the communities receiving it. As a nonprofit, we measure success in practical outcomes—less food discarded, more meals supported, and stronger collaboration across Philadelphia. If your organization has surplus to share, or wants to partner in hunger relief, we welcome a conversation with Contact Evan.
